A mentor is a community in Lake County, Ohio, the United States, consisting of nine unique neighborhoods. Mentor was originally settled in 1797. Most of the population growth has been from children and grandchildren returning to Mentor from other areas. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy offers several programs, including camping, hiking, biking, walking, and wildlife viewing. There is also the Ohio Valley College campus in Mentor that is considered one of the largest colleges in Ohio. There are several public schools in Mentor, including the Mentor School District, which serves students in the Cleveland Schools, the Mentor High School, Mentor College, and Cedar Crest College. There is even the Mentor Ohio State University, which was founded in Mentor in the early 1960s.
